Integra DTR-7.1 RS232 gc100

Mark Nothdurft May 18, 2017 05:42PM EDT

Since the DTR-7.1 does not support HDMI I have a Kinivo 501BN HDMI switch to route all my video signals (Panasonic Blu Ray, Apple TV, Channel Master DVR) directly to my Panasonic Plasma TV. I have all that video switching and control working fine with the GC-100 via IR using my IOS handset.

I switch all the audio using the DTR-7.1. I want to use the RS232 port 2 on the GC-100 for that. I have not gotten that to work.

I purchased the GC-100 used and have reset it to factory settings per the GC support recommendation. It came with two serial cables of which I am using one. I have been able to log into it from my PC and it shows green on my handset.

1) In builder Step 6, I have Integra RS232 AV Receiver Main Zone Complete as the audio volume control. I also have the same device selected to switch the source, but that does not seem correct.

This leads to Step 7 of Builder. After I get step 6 correct, what are the correct input selections for the selected activities? (It will probably become obvious.)

2) Once I get the handset properly built, are there any settings in the GC-100 that need to be changed (Baud, Flow Control, Parity) to get the DTR-7.1 to talk to it via RS232?

You need to:

1. Set baud rate of the GC-100 to 9600
2. Make sure you are using Straight Through RS232 cable.
