How to iRule Builder and iTach Flex RS232

Jeremy Bodokh Apr 30, 2017 06:55PM EDT

Hello,
I am working on my first iRule project and I am stuck setting up my iRule + iTach Flex RS232.

Can someone help me send my first command ? I am not successful in sending any command through the iTach Flex. The command I want to send for exemple is 2,ITACH,17,1,0\r and the IP of the Itach is 192.168.1.20

Should I add codes as Network Codes or something else ? I know it's a lot to ask, but if someone can guide me that would be really kind.

Thanks a lot !

Jeremy,

You need to use iTach Serial gateway so not sure why you are sending commands that you are sending.

Hello,

What do you mean by use iTach Serial Gateway? I am a little lost here, I did try several things but none of them works.

I am sending this kind of command because the Itach is part of another system where I added the ITACH as a RS232 controller therefore I need to send message like this.

Can you please help me?

Thanks a lot!

Just to explain everything.

I have a Colorado vnet system for my lights, shades ...

I added a rs232 control devices connected to my itach flex rs232.

I am trying to control this with iRule but don't really know how to do it.

I have tested all the commands with iTest so my itach is working well.

I just don't know how to send the command using iRule.

Jeremy,

Are you sending command to a device through iTach Flex RS232? If so, wouldn't you need to know the command for the device you are actually trying to control?

Command from your original question should be formatted like this in the builder: 2,ITACH,17,1,0\x0D

Network Gateway port 4999

Exactly,
I am sending command to the device through itach flex. When I use ITest I select the serial 1 port on port 5000.

Which device should I add in the builder? And where should I add the each code ?

On the same device I can send several different code for each light

Thanks a lot.

Jeremy,

Flex is a pass-through device so there are NO drivers for it. You need assign the driver for the actual device you are looking to control (which you setup in the builder) to the iTach Rs232 gateway in the app.

Ok, but should I create a new device or search for one in the list?
