Cannot get any devices to respond

Alan Apr 12, 2016 06:54AM EDT

Hi,

I have set the gateway up (GLOBAL CACHE WF2IR ITACH WIFI TO IR) and it is connected. Green led is steady on and off, port led blinks when button pressed in iRule App.

I am using the ir blaster on port 3. When the activity button for the Samsung TV is pressed, I can see the red led on the tv blink, so I am reasonably confident that the blaster is emitting IR. The TV will not power up. I have tried the database codes for Samsung TV all models, tried iLearn and used an old remote to generate a hex code. Nothing works. None of my other devices will also power up.

Any suggestions or help gratefully received.

Regards,

Alan

Alan,

Your other devices, are they controlled via IR emitter (not blaster)? If so, do they flash red?

Alex,

I have also tried the IR emitter and they do flash red, in this case led on the TV does not blink, which makes me think the codes are wrong or I have positioned the IR emitter incorrectly. I understand you have to stick these directly over the IR detector on devices.

I spoke to Global Cache yesterday, I think my IR blaster my be broken, it does not look correct, they are going to ship me another one.

Alan,

Codes are not wrong. I have several samsung TVs and same codes work for TVs from 10 years ago to current models. Check IR placement.

Alex,

Thanks for your help. It turned out that the Gateway was not configured for the blaster on port 3. Managed to get the TV to respond now.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated.

Regards,

Alan
