iOS device volume buttons

Last Updated: Jul 01, 2014 02:15PM EDT
When the button up is pressed, the app will search for the first appearance of the "VOLUME UP" code in the handset. It will grab the parent page element that sends that code (button, link...) and evaluates it for smooth repeat. If this function is enabled on that element, the app executes the command as if the person just pushed the button, otherwise, the app sends a single "VOLUME UP" command. Same will apply for "VOLUME DOWN".

Known limitations that we are looking to address: Volume buttons only work when the screen is on and the app is in focus.  This is due to the requirement from Apple to kill the socket connection when the app is minimized or when the screen is asleep.

To enable volume control with hard buttons please follow the steps below:

1. Click on Devices tab of the app:

2. Touch on the device name that you are using to control the volume in your setup.

3. Toggle the item called "Use for volume control"

4. When your device settings look like the image below, you can now control your volume with hard buttons.
