Docklight Scripting tool tutorial

Last Updated: Jul 01, 2014 02:40PM EDT
Docklight Scripting (http://docklight.de/download_en.htm) is a tool that we use to test commands as well as help us create feedbacks by providing us ability to see exactly how the device is returning the feedback.

When Docklight opens and you start a new project, click on the icon circled in Red.

When you click on the above mentioned icon, Project Settings window will open where you input the IP address of the gateway you are trying to connect to (Global Cache gateway or Network Gateway like an AVR).  Format is always IPAddress:PortNumber (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:port)  When done, click OK.

You can now try to connect to the gateway by clicking on the “Play” button as shown below.

If connection is successfully established with the gateway, text “Communications Port Closed” will be replaced with “Communications Established (Connected)”.

You can now send commands via IR Remote or directly from the controls on the front of the equipment.
Any feedback sent from the device will be in Red font shown in Docklight communications window.  You can switch between ASCII and HEX by clicking on the tabs.

To send us what the feedback looks like, take a screenshot of ASCII tab as well as screenshot of HEX tab.
